Detailed Information
The 20-foot solar container house has a high-strength steel structure as the skeleton, with 75–100 mm EPS (expanded polystyrene) or glass wool sandwich panel walls, and a floor and roof made of corrosion-resistant corrugated steel sheets. The entire structure is capable of holding winds of up to 8 on the Beaufort scale and earthquakes of up to 8 on the Richter scale. It comes with weatherproof outer panels and weather-resistant coatings, and it also has a dust and water-proof rating of IP65. The windows and doors are made of galvanized steel or aluminum alloy together with double-pane insulated glass, in conjunction with fresh air intakes or electric air fans for efficient indoor air ventilation. The integration of high-strength design with environmental materials gives durability while dealing with sustainable development.
For the energy system, the container house is equipped with 3–5 kW high-efficiency monocrystalline/polycrystalline silicon solar panels on its rooftop and a 10–20 kWh lithium-ion battery energy storage system, capable of providing continuous off-grid power supply. All the photovoltaic devices and battery systems are pre-installed inside the container and require only plug-and-play installation to operate, actually benefiting from “plug-and-play” capability. This system reduces reliance on diesel generators significantly, cuts operational costs, and produces no emissions, which is the most suitable for power supply for the long term in various extreme environments.
The interior design is flexible, being able to use standard finishes or have it customized. The standard configuration is a bedroom/office area, a kitchen, and a single bathroom, perfect for the living or working requirements of 1–2 persons. Interior finishes are achieved with eco-friendly materials such as bamboo fiber panels and gypsum boards. Walls and ceilings are fire protected and heat insulated by 50–75mm glass wool sandwich panels. The interior provides pre-installed interfaces for air conditioners, water heaters, LED lights, and USB/220V outlets to support the installation of common appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, TVs, and microwaves. The overall design is harmonious in balancing comfort, convenience, and ecological sustainability with dependable performance for short-term or long-term use in worldwide climatic conditions.
